The comedy that clowns perform is usually in the role of a fool whose everyday actions and tasks become extraordinary—and for whom the ridiculous, for a short while, becomes ordinary. Some writers have argued that due to the widespread use of such comedy and its long history it is a need that is part of the human condition. Have we become too ordinary? People no longer seem to know how to laugh. People abstain from laughing and telling jokes for fear they might offend someone. In the process, the world has become dull. Social media and mobile phones have turned people into introverted personalities. We need to find our sense of humour again, and the clown inside us all. Long live the Clown- even if it scares us at night!
