This Thursday, June 21st, we will be joining Daniel Ragan for the launch of his photographic exhibition, I Want to Live.

The exhibition explores mental health and suicide whilst taking us on a journey with the volunteer workforce of the suicide respite centre, Maytree.

The Exhibition

The Maytree is run with the purpose of providing non-clinical support to those experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings whilst helping people to re-engage with life and to restore hope.

The project involves Daniel’s interviews with the incredible volunteers behind Maytee including photographic portraits. He wanted to investigate what brings people to volunteer – what are their own personal stories with mental health. There will also be images from Maytree, portraying a valuable space of vulnerability and support.

Details

‘I Want to Live’ will be exhibiting for 4 months at the Free Space Project, an arts and well-being charity based in London. Established in 2010, their aim is to relieve mental and physical suffering through the use of the arts.

Daniel has been an inspiring support when we do our talks around London and we really look forward to seeing this exhibition.
